Apna Ghar's
Board of Directors
President: Mr.
Danial M. Noorani has served on the Board of Apna Ghar for the past
seven years, the last four as Vice-President. Danial recently retired
from a 26 year career in telecommunication, he chaired many industry forums and
played a leading role the industry’s push towards competition. Danial is
also the Founding President of The Citizens Foundation, USA, an organization working to provide a
quality education for under privileged children in Pakistan.
Vice President:
Dr. Surinder Nand is Prof. of Clinical Psychiatry and Assoc. Dir.,
Psychiatry Residency Training Program in the Dept. of Psychiatry at University of Illinois,
Chicago and has
served as the Dir. of Mental Health Services at Jesse Brown VA Medical Center.
She volunteers her time for issues related to homelessness and domestic
violence and believes strongly that mental health leaders must be advocates for
the mentally ill and dispel the stigma of mental illness.
Vice
President: Mr. Saiyed Nasim Rabbani is a
businessman and a community organizer with a long history of
involvement in the Muslim and South Asian communities in Chicago. Mr. Rabbani has served as a
Director of VAB an organization that supports the education of needy children
and the rehabilitation of destitute women and children in Bangladesh.
Treasurer: Ms. Nancy Ali has
over 25 years of experience in both the corporate and not-for-profit sector in
marketing, promotions, public relations and development. She is currently
serving as vice president, resource development, for one of the largest
youth-based organizations in the country.
Secretary: Mrs. Usha Wasan, a very involved Apna
Ghar board member for the last sixteen years as well as volunteering and being
a Board member of the Downers Grove based Care and Counseling Center.
Usha is an active member of the Lemont
Temple and has served as
the President of their Hindu Satsang.
Secretary: Ms.
Ranjana Khan has worked in the health care administration field for over 25
years, with expertise in managed health care. She has volunteered for
many social causes and she is also an active Northern Board member of
the Chicago Youth Services, an organization serving the social and
developmental needs of underprivileged children in Chicago.
