"Apna Ghar" takes its name from a Hindi-Urdu phrase meaning “Our Home”.  Its mission is to provide multi-lingual, multi-cultural comprehensive services to Asian women and children who are victims of domestic violence.  Apna Ghar helps to enhance their sense of dignity and self-respect, and seeks to end the cycle of violence that devastates many families.

 

 

Child Visitation/Exchange Center Facilitator (Part-time position)

 

 

Essential:

Reports to CVC Supervisor, monitors the visits between non-custodial parent and their child/ren under the guidance of the CVC Supervisor.

 

 

Specific:

  • Facilitates Visits and Exchanges.
  • Communicates effectively with both parties regarding the visits and supports appropriately.
  • Maintain client records and confidentiality as required.
  • Reports all subpoenas to the CVC supervisor.

Performs other duties as assigned to the best of ability and available time.

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree (preferably in social work or related field) is required. Should be personable and work well with people, even in stressful circumstances. A good decision making skill with good judgment is expected. Basic 40 hours Domestic Violence Training and an understanding of South-Asian and diverse culture are pluses.
