In 2022, Apna Ghar continued to grow to support survivors, families and communities.
We expanded the following programs and services -
Emergency Housing includes onsite shelter through our purpose-built safe home and offsite shelter through hotel housing
Transitional Housing: We now have 50 apartments across the city and suburbs for the families we serve. We are also actively creating pathways for permanent supportive housing
Medical Advocacy includes health clinic partners, community advocates, and partnerships to ensure that survivors and community members are connected to quality healthcare
Economic Empowerment: We increased financial assistance for food, essential needs, technology, transportation, rent and utilities in addition to supporting survivors with financial planning, employment and educational assistance to ensure long term stability and self-sufficiency
Outreach and Education: We strengthened community engagement and outreach, and created more long-term collaborations and partnerships to collectively move forward
Policy Advocacy: We scaled up our public advocacy to improve systemic and institutional responses to survivors, families and communities, and to ensure adequate funding to sustain needed services
Media: Provided our perspective to raise awareness about the need for gender and racial justice

$5,000 will provide 20 Lenovo chrome books to individuals or families

$2,000 will provide 1 family with 1 month of rent and utilities
$1,000 will provide 1 family with 1 month of food and essential needs
$500 will provide 10 hours of counseling for 1 adult survivor
$250 will provide 1 family with books and e-learning tools for children
