Stride Against Violence is Apna Ghar's Annual 5K Run/Walk that commemorates National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The race takes place at Montrose Harbor and features a fun-filled day for the entire family!

REGISTRATION
Online race registration is now open! Online registration can be found on RunSignUp. Adults (18+) - $40 Youth (6-17) - $25 Child (5 and under) - Free *Note: Online registration will close on October 13 at 10:00AM. There will still be a chance to register at the morning of the race at Montrose Harbor beginning at 8:00AM. Registration will increase by $10 once online registration has closed. No refunds will be provided. Bib transfers will also not be allowed. PACKET PICK UP
There will be no packet pick up prior to race day this year. Please plan to arrive early on October 14 to pick up your race packet and bib. Sunday, October 14 8:00AM - 9:20AM Montrose Harbor AWARDS
Awards will include medals for the top female runner and top male runner. Medals will also be presented to the top 3 male and female finishers in these following categories: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 & Over FUNDRAISING PRIZES

RESULTS
Results will be posted on RunSignup and a link will be provided here. Overall male and female times will be determined by gun time. Age category awards will be determined by chip time. This race is chip-timed by Chicago Race Management. INCLEMENT WEATHER
The race may not begin if lightning has been present within six miles of any part of the race site or course within 30 minutes or it is highly probable that lightning will strike within this range during the course of the event. If deemed dangerous by race personnel, the race may be delayed or not proceed. The race may proceed once the danger has clearly passed. The decision of whether to cancel the race (because of dangerous weather/environmental conditions have persisted over a period of time) will be made by race personnel. There will be no refunds offered for any reason. DIRECTIONS AND PARKING
It is recommended that you take public transportation. You can use Google Maps for Directions. There is free street parking available along Montrose, Montrose Harbor, and Simmonds. PROHIBITED ITEMS
Please note that as per Chicago Area Runners Assocation (CARA) best practices and regulations for being a CARA Certified race, the following items are prohibited on the course:
*Strollers are allowed on the course, but runners/walkers with strollers or baby joggers MUST line up and start behind all runners and walkers. VOLUNTEER
